I feel so lucky to have a husband who adores me more than coffee on a Monday morning. He fills my heart with love. He treats me like the queen I am—crown and all! This whole gift feels even more special now. I’m riding the wave of pre-menopause. The changes to my body and mind hit me by a surprise. My energy, focus, and self-esteem are definitely taking a vacation. I never thought it was possible to feel cold while having a hot flash. Just when I thought I was losing my mind, my husband noticed a peculiar detail. My left foot remains cold while my right foot is warm. Still, I’ve come to value myself differently. I see beauty in my strength and my bravery. I really appreciate the little things my husband does too: his kindness, his patience, and that smile. Honestly, I’m completely overwhelmed with gratitude for all my blessings.

This morning, my husband casually mentioned I looked more bloated than normal. I took it to heart. After all, as my husband, he has the right to be honest, considering all his emotional support and doubting actions. He recounts how the smell of my perfume left an indelible impression on his heart. He expresses how proud he is to have me as his wife. He often thanks me for accepting his first affection. In that moment, I realized how much I’ve evolved; rather than being offended, I chuckled and appreciated his honesty. I’ve made peace with the daily changes to my physical appearance. I stay vigilant in optimizing my health as I age. In a 2023 report by the Mayo Clinic, the key to controlling weight gain during menopause is the same formula. It is a healthy diet and exercise.

Diet

The human body is about 60% water. Staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining overall health and well-being, as water is essential for various bodily functions. It aids in digestion, nutrient absorption, and temperature regulation, while also supporting kidney function and preventing infections. Additionally, staying well-hydrated can improve cognitive function and mood, helping to boost focus and concentration.

I simply drink water or tea until noon. This helps maximize hydration, offset hunger, and extend the time between meals. For lunch, I like soup, which is also easy on digestion and lends itself to a longer detox. We often make our own soup. Boiling broccoli stocks chopped onions rutabagas a carrot a potato along with a bouillon cube. Once the vegetables are tender we use a hand blender to create a savory pureed. I find this to be good for my energy and focus. I don’t feel in control of my actual weight. So, I focus on my energy.

Physical activity

Honestly, I have no excuse for my lack of physical activity. Living in a rural community, without public transport or sidewalks, poses a challenge, along with my projects. Just walking the grounds at 4 vent is simply not enough to get me motivated. Hanging a jump-rope on the doorknob would be a good jump-start for my fitness journey.

In conclusion navigating change is a vital skill. It requires a positive mindset and flexibility. One should view it as an opportunity for growth rather than a setback. The changes of pre menopause offer a chance to rebuild myself using the insights gained through experience. I can honestly say you couldn’t pay me to repeat my past years. I’m more excited about my future now than at any other time prior.

In Conclusion

Navigating change is an essential skill. Recognizing change as opportunity rather than an obstacle is key to growth.I’d love to hear from you,
