Embracing French family life in the countryside

The village of Castellet is a medieval village located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France. Perched on a hill, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, with its lush valleys and picturesque vineyards. This ancient village, known for its cobblestone streets and stone houses, retains a unique historical charm that attracts visitors. Echoes of centuries past resonate in its ancient churches and fortified buildings, making Castellet an ideal destination for those looking to immerse themselves in history while enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

This tiny village holds a special place in my heart as it is the site of our wedding dinner (pictured below). As we gathered with friends and family, the warm atmosphere buzzed with laughter and joy, and the smell of delicious food filled the air, creating a memory that I will cherish forever. Our menu was designed and prepared by my husband’s childhood friend Fred, whose passion for culinary arts is evident in every dish he creates. Fred is the owner and head chef of restaurant Le Farigoule (in le village Castellet), where he skillfully blends traditional recipes with innovative flavors, ensuring that each plate is not only a feast for the palate but also a visual delight. I personally recommend the wild mushroom ravioli, a dish that showcases the local ingredients and Fred’s dedication to excellence.

The evening was a delightful blend of heartwarming toasts, lively conversations, and the joy of sharing this milestone with those we love most, making it an unforgettable celebration. The soft glow of candlelight flickered in the background, enhancing the ambiance, as we dined under the stars, surrounded by the magical beauty of the village that enveloped us in its charm. The gentle whispers of the night air carried the laughter and stories shared among friends, while my heart swelled with gratitude as I witnessed my friends humbly asking my new family to take good care of me, further solidifying the bonds of friendship and family.

The laughter and joy shared that day echo in my mind, making this village not just a location, but a symbol of love and happiness in our lives.
