I love this time of year.

I love this time of year. Before the holiday season gets going, I love to reflect on the past year. I put my plans for the coming year into motion afterward. 2024 has been full of beautiful life changing surprises.

5. Sunsets & Sunrise views of six four le plage:

Ah, the rich ombre of colours unfolding as the sun takes its final curtain call for the day.

Watching a sunset here is downright exhilarating. It is utterly relaxing. It’s like nature whispering in your ear, “Time to unwind and get cozy.

We are fortunate to have a view of six four le plage. Six-Fours-les-Plages is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southeastern France. The rugged cliffs offer the most surreal sunsets.

I’m hoping to hold our second wedding at Six-Fours-les-Plages, the spot of our first weeks as a couple.

4. Friends & Family
Your life is all about the people who matter most. These are your friends and family. They’re the ones who’ve got your back, through thick and thin, and always bring a smile to your face. You hang out with them for some laughs. You lean on them during tough times. These connections are what make life meaningful. So, let’s celebrate those amazing bonds that keep us grounded and make our journeys a whole lot brighter!

3. Our Beautiful Home

The most sacred place is the haven where you lay your head. It is a sanctuary filled with fervent dreams and cherished whispers. This refuge tenderly cradles your very essence. My home transcends my wildest fantasies, perched on a hill that gazes upon the breathtaking Mediterranean Sea & Six-Fours-Le Plage. Each day is an exquisite gift. I revel in the glorious beauty of the sun rising and setting. The sun ignites the sky with passion and warmth.

2. My Solitude

As a City Girl turned Country (Girl,)
I find a sanctuary. My spirit is at peace in the tranquil calm of our home. As a newlywed expat, awaiting my work documents, I’m free to explore my own ideas. My solitude also allows me time to miss my husband.

1. My Husband A year ago I was a self declared “confirmed bachelorette”. Then I met a neighbour while watching the sanglier and everything changed. He has an antiquated purity, I thought extinct. Sitting at home together is my happy place, because of his smile.

In conclusion, 2024 has been generous to me in many ways. It has provided a wealth of opportunities. These opportunities have enriched my personal and professional life. I have experienced significant growth in my career. This growth has allowed me to take on new challenges. These challenges have not only enhanced my skills but also expanded my network. This year has brought invaluable experiences and connections. It has rewarded me with friendships. I will cherish these memories for years to come. The positive changes I have encountered have shaped my outlook on life. They foster a sense of gratitude. I am motivated to continue pursuing my dreams.

Navigating the Expat Experience

It’s not all rainbow macaroons

However, this excitement can sometimes become overwhelming. That’s why it’s crucial to have a plan before embarking on your expat journey.

What am I hoping to gain from living abroad that I can’t find in my current home?Consider how this unique experience could benefit others. Perhaps you could start a blog, write a book, or share your insights with individuals contemplating a similar leap.

Reflect on how you can serve as an ambassador or representative of your culture. Maybe you can teach your native language; there are countless franchises offering language services, especially seeking native English speakers.

Having this internal dialogue can be incredibly beneficial, especially during moments when the urge to withdraw and self-isolate may hit. Here are some valuable resources to help you connect with the expat community.

Vote From Abroad– a volunteer organization who educates Americans exercise their voting rights while abroad

AixMarseille University or the local University ( Europe has an affordable University system)

Social Media groups such as “Internations” and or “English Speaking Girls in Aix” 

Les Petits Bilingues – an English learning franchise with locations through out France, a good spot to find English teaching positions

Libraries or English bookstores – that are a great resource and meeting spot

Here’s a little testimonial I filmed on August 3, 2023, exactly one year prior to my wedding. At that time, I had not even met my future husband, which makes this experience all the more surreal to reflect upon. The spontaneity of life truly amazed me, as it demonstrated how everything can change in a snap. In just twelve short months, my world transformed entirely; I went from being uncertain about the future to finding my soulmate and planning our life together. This journey has shown me that love can appear when you least expect it, reminding us that sometimes the best adventures arise from the most unexpected moments.
