Our first Christmas as husband & wife

Since the day we were wed, I’ve been learning about the rich heritage of my husband’s family. This heritage is deeply intertwined with the history of our community. The inspiring love story of Lucie & Jules marks the beginning this journey. These founders of 4 Vents exemplify resilience and passion. As I explore their legacy, I find myself captivated by the tales of hard work. The dedication and love shaped both the environment we call home.

This Christmas we are traveling to the beautiful island of Corsica. A place renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. The Corsican flag, which is a staple in our home, has always intrigued me with its deep significance and symbolism. A simple image of a Moor’s jet-black profile wears a white bandanna. It is juxtaposed against a white background. This image tells a story of identity and resilience. Corsica is an island. Eric (my husband) confirms that most Corsican’s originate from the mountain regions. They thrive in small, close-knit communities. These communities cherish and pass down traditions through generations.

We are taking the ferry from Toulon, located about 20 minutes from our home. The crossing takes an average of 6 hours. We are traveling with Corsica Ferries, on the evening of December 25th 2024. This is my first time visiting Corsica and my first ferry crossing. I’ve heard wonderful things about the experience. The ferry offers comfortable cabins, and a ton onboard amenities. The most important thing is that the ferry accommodates cars, which is crucial to our time on the island.

I’m really looking forward to our trip, meeting my new family, and building new memories together.
