Our Experience

The  first venue was definitely a no-go. Located in the village of Cuges, about 30 minutes away from our home.

The proprietor appears to be a very industrious entrepreneur. Turning a small pleasant space into a venue takes vision, creativity and tenacity values I admire.  It also requires attention to detail, and constant maintenance.

Our visit sparked a conversation (between my husband and I) about what qualifies as a good investment.

I am content with the memory of our light, intimate wedding (last August) that mirrored our relationship perfectly. Eric really wants a formal celebration for everyone not in attendance last summer. In my opinion, a wedding creates memories that will live for an eternity. While it is a worthy investment, it’s not necessarily a priority. Yet it is important to Eric so important to me.

With our priorities in place, it was easy to see that this was not the place for us. The exterior of the venue was in need of fresh paint. A home supply store opposite the venue, which interrupted the view of the surrounding mountains.

The party salon was pleasing. Yet there are only two bathrooms inside and two bathrooms outside. This seems unrealistic for 80 guests. 

The venue is located a significant distance from the center of town. This will create issues for my American friends. They are not accustomed to navigating the winding one-lane highways common in France. This is especially true late at night after traveling 16/20 hrs, just to get here. My husband was certainly is attracted to the price  €5500 for a total of 80 guests. That’s where we return to our reasons for hosting a second wedding, to create eternal memories. This is not the memory we want to create.

We just received the menu offerings for our top choice on Six-Fours-les-Plages. Six-Fours-les-Plages is a place of majestic natural beauty and significance. I’m excited for our next venue visit and the communication it will inspire.
